Will I ever stop missing them this much?
Pretoria North · 19 September 2026

The missing does not shrink on a schedule. Some mornings it hits before you even open your eyes. A chair at the table. A voice you keep expecting to hear. Nobody warned you how loud silence could be. But Jesus said something the night before He died, not to a crowd, to a small group of people who were terrified of losing Him, and it changes what death actually is.
"In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also."
- John 14:2-3 (KJV)
Today, write their name on a piece of paper. Next to it, write the words 'prepared place'. Not as a magic act, just as a way of telling your heart what is true. Put it somewhere you will see it once more before tonight.
Lord, the missing is real and I am not pretending otherwise. But You prepared a place, and that is enough to hold onto today. Help me carry that truth through this day. Amen.
